It's been a while, thought I'd stop in and say hi. Tis the season for remodeling: Just got Kolya moved into her new room, now must re-paint Drexel's room, and shampoo the carpet, then our room gets a makeover, and then new laminate flooring in the living room. I'm pretty happy with how Kolya's room turned out, it's a nice pink, purple, lavendar and green, and I built stairs to her loft bed with a book case underneath, and little drawers under each step. She has her own desk for drawing, and her own computer. We just got a new one, so we gave her our old one. I'll post pics of her room later.

Our new computer! Yes, it's sweet. Got a 64, with 2 big hard drives, and a real nice video card. Should last us quite a while, built it myself, I'll post pics of that later too.

Things are calmer these days, kids are healthy, we're working through life, grieving for the loss of Cindy's Dad, and working through the stress of all this year has brought. Cindy will be going out East to Philly for a week to attend a wedding, and I'll be staying back to refurbish our room. Then, sometime after that we need a vacation! :)

Let's see, what else...oh, yeah, we got Tivo...I don't know what we did before we had it. It's awesome. If you don't have it, get it, it's much better than live TV.

Oh, yeah, I'm winning my Fantasy Baseball League. If I can hold on for 3 more weeks, I'll get an Ichiro jersey, and a DVD of For Love of the Game. It'll be the first time I've ever won, and the first time in 4 years that a another guy in the League doesn't win. What a nice change.

Speaking of baseball, some friends and i plan on going to St. Louis to see Busch Stadium before they tear it down...we wanted to go this weekend, but it won't work out, so we'll have to go at the end of the month, if we can get tickets...should be fun if we can work it out.

So what's up with all of you old friends? How are things?

TiVo is a component/service that allows you to record programming off the TV... It stores it on a hard drive so you can watch it anytime you want. Very handy for watching things you missed and also good for fast forwarding thru commercials.

I don't own one but i believe they are referred to as DVR's (Digital Video Recorders)....

Hey great to see you back, Eric! :) Good deal on the TiVo and new comp, and all the other renovations. Yeah, I hear ya on the grieving and moving on bit.

Glad all is going well for the family.

    (I remember that pic.....Shudder! )

Dang, I'll NEVER EVER live that stupid pic down, will I? :D Oh well, I guess it's good to be famous for something! :( Thanks Boomer! :)

How are ya Phantom? I'm glad you're still around. What's new with you?

    Matty, how are ya?

Laurie B, Tivo is indeed a Digital Video Recorder, but it's so much more. You can select what programs you want recorded, how many of each, and how long to keep them before they automatically get erased. You can pause live TV so that if you need to take a break for something, you won't miss anything, and then fast forward through commercials to catch back up to live TV. You can rewind live TV as well, so if you want to see something again, or missed something somebody said, or want to show something to someone who missed it, you can do so. It also has ratings, so you can block out shows with disagreeable content if you so wish. I'm telling you, it's awesome.

BTW, Laurie B, what island do you live on? Just curious. :)

Eric! Great to hear from you!

Believe it or not, I was heading for bed last night when you posted. Early for me, but I've been sick for 2 weeks, and not up to late nights. I'm off today trying (finally) to see a doctor this afternoon.

Sounds like some very positive changes in your world, along with a lot of work. I hope the grieving and stresses from the past year are starting to fade. Sounds like some very thoughtful and innovative upgrades to Kolya's room. I remember your place; space is always at a premium. Would love to see pictures. Would love to see more pictures of YOU guys too. Cindy used to feed us some pretty regularly, but that's been quite a while ago.

Take care, and please stop in more often. You're missed a lot around here.

Hey Eric, did not run across this until today, been busy working overtime and going back to college. Did Cindy get my last message about going to Cornerstone next summer? I'm curious about a couple of different things with Cornerstone and maybe able to bring the wife and meet you guys in person. Let me know if she got it or not. If not I'll handle it in a PM. Say hi to Cindy for me. Take care and God bless.
