Does your Ip Address (network address) change when using a subnet mask . For Example, If your IP address is 10.106..17.5 and your subnet was 255.255.0.0 Would your network address still be 10.106.17.5??

    Thanks,

    Cob

Anywhere you'd see a 255 mask defines your network. Your on the 10.106 network. So any devices with 10.106.x.x & the 255.255.0.0 mask are on the SAME network.

    010.106.017.002
    255.255.255.000
    Would be the 10.106.17 network

That is the quick & easy answer, if you want to learn more lookup subnetting.
