Just got an Email from Verizon. (question)

This e-mail confirms that your Verizon Online DSL speed will change to 1.5M/384K on telephone number 508-***-****.

YOUR SPEED CHANGE DATE
Your estimated Service Ready Date for this change in service is 08-23-2004* after 6pm.

I have the best package.. so what is being upgraded? What do I have now if I have the best? My download speeds generally go over 200megs.

 

all that's saying is that your connection will "change" (most likely to be capped) monday after 6PM to about 192kbytes/s download. Your max rate will probably drop (assuming you meant you can now download at over 200kbytes/sec), but not enough to make you upset.

 

1.5 megabit service will not download faster than 187.5 k/s.

This assumes that he gets 100% of the bandwidth.

To download at 192 k/s, he would need T1 speeds of 1.54 down.

To download at 200 k/s, he would need a faster than T1 connection, the connection would need to be 1.6 down. This once agains assumes a perfect world with 100% bandwidth available.

 

So my speed is going to be getting lowerd?

 

It seems like my Upload speed went higher, I THINK it was 128 up before now its 384, I'll have to find out tonight at 6.
