JUST got New PC ~ Need HELP with Settings!

Hiya Everybody!!!

I just got the new PC that I had built at CyberPowerSystems using the specs YOU guys recommended!!! I LOVE IT!!! But to save money I didn't add an OS to it pre-installed. I have a copy of Win XP home here and I loaded that on. But I don't know what the settings should be to open this baby up some. For instance ...when it boots ...I see a brief message of Memory being in SINGLE channel at 200. Not sure what that means but I know it doesn't sound right...

I think some changes need to be made in the BIOS and I'm totally comfortable with that ...I just need to know specificially WHAT needs to be changed. I've put a computer together with specific instructions so this is no problem for me. I just don't quite understand what the settings SHOULD be ...

So if you could kindly shed some light on this for me ...I would be EXTREMELY appreciative!!! Thank you soooooooo MUCH! I can't wait to play with my new toy! I've waited SIX years for this! LoL!

Oh and I forgot to ask .....what is the normal temp for the pc to be at? I have that LCD thingie on the front that reads out the temp and it's saying 90 F ...is that normal??? I know that AMD runs hot so I want to be sure I don't fry it ...

Well if you have the Motherboard listed in your specs the ASUS A7N8X-X then you will only get single channel memory as it doesnt support Dual Channel....therefore defeating the object of having of having a dual channel memory kit could of saved some money and bought a single stick....sorry

As for the temps thats ok only about 30c....but then it depends where the temp sensor is placed...for a more accurate reading enter the BIOS and check the PC Health Menu

 

You're KIDDING me?!?!?! UGHHHHH!!! That was an extra (almost) $50 to have the Dual memory!! GRRRR!!! WHY in GOD'S name did the person who assembled the PC NOT say something???? That SUCKS!!! And why did they have that option in the first place? The whole reason I went to this place is cuz I wanted to build the computer with parts that WENT TOGETHER!! GRRRR!!! Should I send it back?? I mean ...what EXACTLY are we talking about here?? How big of a difference am I losing out on??? The whole reason I got this computer was to get a speed boost from the crappy one I've had for the last 6 years.


Please advise ... I would so appreciate it!!

Please PLEASE please let me know!!! Cuz I'm sending this sucker back if not!! I did NOT wait SIX years for this..........

Well, needless to say, they blamed ME and said I should have known better. There's nothing that can be done without costing me more money that I do not have. So I'm stuck with it.


Honestly, how much of a difference are we talking here. I need to know.


And what tweaks should I be doing in the BIOS ...I just KNOW there has to be some....
