HaHa. I guess I'll never get over thinking that its just not the same w/o Dave. Regardless of his percieved faults (?), he's still Dave. The original V-H singer.

Yes, I was thinking about Eddie the other day in the car when that "Eruption" thing was playing. I heard in a newscast one time that he was just "goofing off " playing that before a session, to warm up. The suit that was in the studio heard it, and told Eddie to lay it down, that they'd record it. I'm glad he did.
    ;)

Some people say that music shouldn't sound like a space ship that is taking off!
    Ha Ha.....

Nobody does those Hammer-On techniques like Eddie Van Halen, nobody,
even the guy who used to play with Ozzy who died in the plane crash. I saw that guy, Randy Rhodes. He couldn't work the fretboard w/ the hammering like Eddie.

    He's the real dude!!!!!

    @ BluesMan:
What is the original guitar used by Eddie, the old one w/ the stripes all over it?

Personally, I don't think it matters who sings(as long as he can carry a tune:)). I've loved their music from day 1. If it weren't for Eddie, they would just be another average band.

Yes, Eddie stole the show when I saw them.... Freedom Hall, can't remember when. He was still jumping up in the air really high and all. I remember when Women and Children First came out... I was in the ninth grade and got the album
(that's as in the LPR - you know, the plastic thing, NOT the cd :) ).

That brother drummer of his is something, too. No Keith Moon or John Bonham,
but a true drummer at heart, though, that's for sure. Says he uses the biggest sticks that are made. The things are like baseball bats, they say!!! :) :) :)

These guys have GOT to be getting older, though....

You would think they would slow down.
Maybe they eat a lot of fruit and do a lot of yoga or something!!! ;) ;) ;)

Agreed...it ain't ROCK \m/:cool:\m/ unless there is a kick-ass guitarist. I've liked them since their first album.

I actually saw Montrose back then. That was a helluva show.

Last time I saw Montrose they were opening for Robin Trower at a local theatre downtown. Ronnie was yelling at the roadie all night, "where's my slide!?!?" and crap between songs, it was pathetic but he did put on a great show.

Robin Trower was AWESOME. Two things were the highlight of that show. There was some guy that kept yelling Robin Trower for 15 mins and finally got the beatdown and shut up. Number 2 - a few of us were hanging out right at the stage mesmorized by his playing. In the middle of one of the most amazing solo's I have ever heard, Robin pokes his false teeth half way out, closes his eyes and rips the roof off the place. Man, was I surprised. I know all about the goofy faces when playing, do it all the time, but the false teeth was unexpected and almost shocke me to death.

If you saw him sing last night (I don't know what show it was), you would definitely reconsider. He sang "Jump" and just downright sucked.
