For cleaning it out you should probably just get a can of compressed air. Don't hold it to close to components and let it sit for awhile after spraying it out. I have also found that using the brush attachment on my vacuum, very gently, will remove any stubborn or long standing dust that does not come out with the air. Best to unplug the system prior to doing this and again, let it sit for awhile after cleaning to make sure no condensation built up during the air portion of the cleaning. Still looking for an answer to the power supply issue.

If you're using that 350W PSU with the machine you have listed then I can understand why it's taking forever to boot-up!! You are, without a doubt, underpowered. I can give you a few recommendations for a new PSU that won't force you into the 'poorhouse':-D Since I'm a firm believer in Antec PSUs here's some decent ones:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371015 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817103941 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341010 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153052 Any of those units would be a good buy. Granted, I am an Antec fan, but OCZ and ThermalTake are also good units. It's just that all my builds have Antecs in them and have never had any problems. When I say 'all my builds,' I mean all 3 of them!!:-D
As for cleaning a PSU, Computerrouter's method is probably the best way to go. Unless, of course, you'd care to take it apart and hope you get all the parts back the way they are supposed to be!! In other words, NOT a good idea!! I'd stick with Compertrouters method!

As for your present PSU, Ultra-X Connect, well, don't gamble your system on an unknown PSU that 'may' have a short. That's a recipe for disaster, trust me, I know first hand what a no-name PSU can do to a system when it goes South. 9 times out of 10, when it goes it takes other vital parts with it, motherboard, CPU, etc.:cry Granted, there is a chance that it wouldn't either, but that could turn out to be a rather expensive gamble. Just a suggestion, buy a good PSU with a reputation of being dependable and well-built. For some odd reason, the name Antec comes to mind!!rolleyes Still, it's your decision as to which brand name you choose whether it be Antec, Enermax, OCZ, or whatever. Spending a little more money now can save you ALOT of aggravation later;) Good luck, and let us know how you fair.

Yes, my friend, I'm inclined to agree that you DO need some more cooling in your case. At a minimum I'd suggest one fan in front, blowing air in and one in the rear to exhale to keep the air moving. I have an Antec P-180 case (yeah, I like their cases too!) and it has a 120 in the front, a 120 in the rear, a 120 as the 'blow-hole' over the CPU and a 120 on the bottom middle sucking air in over the HDD and exhaling it on the PSU. I'm not familiar with your case, so I can't say whether it could accomodate 120's, but I'm sure it could handle a few 80's. One place I found that dust really gathers is in the heatsink for the CPU. Just use a can of air once in awhile and blow it through the fins on the heatsink, which is pretty easy with that red, flexable 'hose' that comes with it. Good Luck!!!;)

i went ahead and bought this PSU.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371007 .. and i know on the side of case theres a spot for two 80's.. thats where one stopped working.. it looks like i cant find my case on any sites, maybe they stopped making it, wow lol.. but yeah its a raidmax case with two 80's on the side.. and it looks like theres 2 spots on the back of the case for two more 80's.. doesnt look like theres anything in the front of the computer either but idk.. maybe a spot for osmething bigger.. any type of fans you reccemend? lol

First of all, good choice on the PSU!! As for choice in fans...well you may find this hard to believe, but I like Antec fans!! My reasoning for that is that the fans I mentioned in my other post came with the case, except one! And so far they have lasted about 2 years. However, there are, I'm sure, alot better ones out there with higher output and less noise. Mine aren't noisey because they each have a 3-speed switch and if I keep them at the lowest level I still get good temps and the machine is really quiet. I looked at the fans they have on Newegg and even though their prices are good, the shipping will kill ya! Example, an 80mm Antec fan will run you around $5.99, and the shipping will cost $6.99!!!! So that's $13.00 for a $5.99 fan:confused As for recommendations, just get some brand name fans (CoolerMaster, ThermalTake, Antec, etc) with a high output and a low db!! Since you have a blue case, blue LED fans would probably look pretty good.

yes yes.. i just ordered the PSU and 2 fans.. hopefully thats enough to cool my computer down.. if not, i guess more fans? lol.. yeah i noticed that too, freakin 7 bucks for shipping while one fan is 4 or 5 bucks lol.. oh well though
