Just posting some temps

As some of the 'regulars' to MG might know, occasionally I post some temps 'cuz I have no life and nothing better to do... so, here's my latest temp post... the screen shot attached shows my max temps after playing BFBC2 (or Battlefield: Bad Company 2) for about 2 hours at 1680x1050 with all in-game settings at "High". I have my GTX570 fan locked at 70% using the stock cooler (I use eVGA Precision to control fan speed) ; I'm running a Spire Thermax II Eclipse cooler on my AMD Phenom II CPU at the stock 3.20ghz; I'm running an NZXT BetaEVO case with five 120mm fans (2 intake, 3 exhaust - 2 of the exhaust fans are on top, 1 is on the rear panel above the MB I/O panel; 1 intake is up front, the 2nd is on the left side panel). I have the PSU mounted so it acts as a 3rd exhaust fan (I could orient the bottom-mount PSU to bring in fresh air from below the case, but due to shaggy carpet and low feet on the case, I chose to have it act as an exhaust fan on the bottom of my case).

    :cry Are you bored yet??

Under an hour or so of gaming my i5 @4.4Ghz hits about 55 celcius under a custom water loop with a 360mm rad on the top of an 800d, that's due to the sheer amount of voltage being pumped through it to get stable at that clock. I've got the same card as you but i made myself a custom fan profile so you can only hear the card when it's working hard, it usually hits 75-80c in game.

The GPU isn'r actually watercooled right now as i had to pu the stock fan back on, but when it was under water i had it running @980Mhz. The fastest in the world (that i can find without a hardmod). On the stock cooler with stock volts i could get up to 900Mhz, with the volts @1.1 i could hit 930Mhz but the temps were getting high.

Attached is a screen shot from about 90min of play from the newest release of Medal Of Honor... again, all settings are at high, some are set to "Custom" or "Advanced" where I turned 'em up a notch or two. Again at 1680x1050 (my new 22"-24" LCD is coming soon! :dood). The hardware is (of course) the same, and the GPU fan is still locked at 70%. I might turn it down to 60% just see what (if any) difference it makes. My temps are (IMO) quite impressive, but then again, this is a cold room in the winter, and there's about 6in of snow outside, and it's still coming down :cry

Yeah - I'm bored, but maybe someone can use these temps as a point of reference. Comparing these GPU temps to the temps above shows that Medal Of Honor is not working the GPU nearly as hard (or maybe the room is a bit cooler - but not 10C+ cooler).

That's impressive. Really. WOW! No sarcasm is intended. I've never been much of an OC guy - I've dabbled a bit and brought my CPU up to 3.8-something (maybe 3.86 or 3.87?), and the temps were OK, but I honestly didn't see enough of a performance increase to justify my thoughts of "it's gonna explode - I can't afford a new CPU right now" so I went back to stock.. I did run at 3.6ghz for about a month without even meaning to... I was playing with OCing, got distracted, and forgot that I was 3.6ghz until I took a close look at my speeds. :-o OOOOPS! I OCed one of my GTX260s when I was running two in SLI; I brought the slower one up to match the speeds of the factory OCed card and had no problems.... but you're in a league of your own Burrell. A world record - you should be famous (or maybe you are and I'm just out of touch! LOL )

Nice! The lighting and camera work are fine (for the most part).... no worries... I've always been a bit wary of water cooling due to the chance of leaks, condensation, and just the thought of liquids slooshing around in my PC really freaks me out. I know that when liquid cooling first hit the scene, leaks and condensation were actually a problem, and I know now that this type of cooling has been around for some time, the worries of condensation and leaks are basically non-existent, but I still remember a friend of mine: he set up his cooling system, it was running OK, and he left with friends for some dinner out and a movie. He came home 4 hours later to a puddle under the PC, a burnt power supply and dead motherboard. The GPU was not in the loop, but it was wet also, but the fan shroud appeared to have kept the water out. The CPU, RAM, HD, GPU and everything else was OK once it was set out to dry on a layer of newspapers for 36 hours, but the mobo and PSU were gone.... the enclosed liquid CPU coolers look like a good option (like the Corsair H50 for example); is there something like this for GPUs?

I recently started playing Bulletstorm on my PC, and here's some temps from this AWESOME shooter (think of an R-rated "Serious Sam" + "Unreal Tournament" or something like that).... temps posted are after about 70-80min of gaming with all in-game settings at "High" using 1680x1050 resolution....

Hmm, your temps are perfectly fine dlb. Here's mine running @ %100 I7 with a H-50 cooler @ 3.8 GHz from 2.8. I could OC this 930 further but my vregs get too hot on my eVGA 3X SLI. I think I have the record temps at 105C without burning my mobo!:-D

BTW, why do you lock your GPU fan to %70 on your 570?:confused Does it get very loud when your playing games? That would suggest an internal air flow issue.

Here's the facts; I've got a 260 and a 470 running @ %100 in a CM Sniper case, monster 200mm fans, two in and one out. Both GPU's are OC'd too but not much more than %10

    BTW, this runs 24/7.

I lock it at 70% to keep it running cool. If I let it run in "auto mode", my in-game temps get up in the mid 70s to low 80s, and at idle it's about 10-15C warmer than it is with the fan at 70%. While these temps are not high, I'm much more comfortable with the lower temps obviously. As for the noise, I have five 120mm 85cfm fans running, so the GPU fan is more-or-less masked by the other fans (and I have no aversion to fan noise; my PC is NOT silent, and I like it that way!) and there's no air flow issue at all. I have two 120mm fans exhausting out the top of the case, one 120mm exhausting out the rear, and for intake fans I have one up front blowing in across the HDs and one on the side blowing straight at the video card. I keep the fans and mesh filters as clean as possible between complete cleanings: every two months or so, I take both sides off the PC, take it outside and I go nuts with an air compressor (off course, I don't let the fans spin all crazy during cleaning; I either hold the fan blades or use a pen to keep 'em from spinning).

I just posted the temps 'cuz I was bored and had nothing else better to do.... I know that I have no temp problems....

OK dlb, fair enough. I was actually surprised to see this thread TBH. I know that you know your way around inside the box but your rig must sound like an airport.:eek I was just curious.;).
