just reinstalled xp and still slow slow slow

Hi, I just reinstalled xp media center on a A100 satellite toshiba. unfortunately it is still running slow. For example the service pack 3 of xp is been installing for an hour and it's not yet to its third...

Also I get a blue screen one in a while.. what can I do??

 

You may have some failing hardware. A description of the error message would help as well. I would start by testing your RAM, your hard drive, and some other tests. Using Everest Ultimate Beta you can do some benchmarking/testing. It's shareware, but i think you are able to do a lot of the tests without buying it.

other products that you can try are:
memtest - for RAM
HD Tune - to check your hard disk(s)
