Just wanted to say thanks.

I was asked by my sister in-law to take a look at their computer. It was getting slow and she said IE would not close unless you end task it in task manager. I have always used Spybot S&D, and either McAfee or AVG. They had no virus scanner so I installed AVG and it found a couple of virii and cleaned them no problem. Spybot found some 50 and cleaned. IE was still no closing and the system would hang for minutes at a time when IE is open. I started looking around for help and found your site. I read through the basic spyware, trojan, virus removal thread and am happy to report that I finally got it solved. It took HiJack This to do it. I just started fixing them one at a time starting with the most obvious ones and finally got it. It was ESD Technologies, Inc. I think. There were five dll's loaded that were related to ESD. They were iexplorr26.dll, iexplorr27.dll, iexplorr29.dll, ngpw34.dll, and ngsw31.dll. Everything started working great when I got them off her computer.
Anyway I just wanted to say thanks and this is one great resource from what I can tell. I will be frequenting here quite a bit in the future.

CrossTie69, how did you find all the files? Was it just with HiJack This? I restart in safe mode and remove the DLL and the EXE file from ESD but they keep coming back with different names. I can't find what the root cause is.
