Just wondering if someone can help me Win 08

I am running win 08 Server Enterprise Ed.

I brought my comp from a comp tech who added on my account & one for my son. Then he removed everything that he had instilled on it for me.

I have no probs with it what so ever.

My question (well it's really two) are these:
1) what type of burning software will I need to be able to burn off movies, music etc?
1a) Would Ashampoo work on my comp? If so which vision? (I perfer it over neo) as I just want to burn not make ISO's of the files.
2) What is the best type of dvd reader/writer for me to look at getting?
My current one has just died on me so I need to get a new one. However I am unsure which brand/type to go for.


I don't have media player at all as it doesn't like my windows.

As I am a basic home user with a bit of comp knowledge (I know what ram is; not a sheep) & know a bit about IP's etc I would prefer if possible to get any answers in everyday English so that way if I haven't had enough coffee's before checking on here for replies, I will still be able to understand it.

I did try searching google before I came on here but got myself lost with what I should have put in/left out.


As an after thought does anyone know what type of Antivirus software I could on my comp?
I have windows default one but want something extra. Thanks again!
