I was just wondering if there was any way to take two computers connect them and pretty much make one. I don't need to to share files. I just want to see if I can make a faster computer. I have two OK computers and want to see if I can make something faster without spending too much money.

I think both computers are independent operating systems and cannot be bridged as one. You could upgrade your ram to make your computer faster http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=106650 you can also follow the link i provided and perform basic computer maintenance which can also help speed up your computer.

what type of pc do you have? what are the specs? how much ram are you working with? has it always been slow or are you just looking for a boost in performance?

Yes, there is a way to hook 2 computers together so they both share the same keyboard, mouse, sound, etc. via a KVM switch. However, you won't get a speed increase out of it. The best way and, probably only ways to increase your speed is to either tweak the heck out of it or invest in some newer parts, MB, CPU, etc. I have a KVM setup that consists of my main machine coupled to an old Intel 333 \w 128 megs of RAM that I use for playing the older DOS games that can't run on newer machines, 'Blood,' 'Redneck Rampage,' etc. So no, hooking 2 machines together will not get you a speed increase. A little more versitility maybe, but no speed;) Hope that answered your question. BTW, my main machine runs Win2000Pro, and the other is still running Win 98SE!
