After trouble with WMP and MP4 files I used VLC successfully but would like to be able to use WMP when I want.
Every time I find a site for
    1-K-lite basic 32 byte
    and
    2-the pack for 64 byte

I get other downloads I do not want once the download starts. I cannot find a direct download without filters or managers etc.

    >>If I may, I have VLC installed and runs well. My only reason for the codec pack(32+ 64 byte) would be so that WMP would also work with MP4 files.
Grand children are beginning to explore.

Would there be any conflicts with either player if I installed the codec pack you referred me to?
    Thank you
    over conscientious.

I made a mistake and tried to edit but was too late.
I tried to download, chose the button above default >average user but the next box had everything from select all to what I want which is MP4.
What should I select and also shoud I select WMP for it to assciate with?
    Thank you

    Greetings, peterr...

Many times, WMP (and other players) can't play .MP4 files because of an unregistered Indeo codec...you might try this real quick:

Open a 'command prompt' using a rightclick, select, 'Run as Administrator'
Type: cd C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (32bit users can skip this step) - press Enter
    Type: regsvr32 ir50_32.dll - press Enter

Then try to open the .MP4 with WMP...

VLC is doing the job nicely. I was confused about how to respond to the choices in the pack that Major Attitude referrd me to. See my last post.

I downloaded the simple version but do not know what to do. It does not seem to address the MP4 issue but has so many choices. There is a download manager at the end and I don't know if i should use it.
    Thank you for some direction.

Could someone tell me how to use the K-lite codec pack.
I want to burn mp4 video files from my Flip but I lost my Roxio which was a simple drag and drop.
I have downloaded the K-lite pack but there are tons of choices. I have been reading the helps but it is too confusing.
I guess the object is to import my mp4 files to the pack, then when they are converted to mp3 I can use even windows to burn the dvd.
    Any corrections appreciated.
    Thank you
