k7sem onboard sound problems

I have a K7SEM 3.0C mother board and everytime I enable my onboard sound through the bios and reboot, the computer will load until i get to my screen name. If I click it and log in i just get my background and it stops. ctrl-alt-del doesn't work so I have to push the power button or reset button. if I disable the onboard sound again everything is fine....any idea's?
