How the 'h' do you remove this little bit of what I can only term as malware. Anything I can't update, remove or have complete control of on my machine I consider to be malware. Any help appreciated....jealex2 <at> gmail or yahoo

Hi

Try the below I posted some time ago for another user with similar problem.....

If you have restared your PC since trying to uninstall the AVP tool then the process may already be uninstalled, so goto the main folder of Kaspersky Tool and run the unins000.exe file.

or if that doesnt work, open the Kav AVPTool and disable the Self Defence option and click "complete antivirus protection" and then try uninstalling.

or re-boot into safe mode ( F8 at boot ) and run the unins000.exe file.

Mission Accomplished! (And not like the chimpanzee we have in the White House.) Your instructions were spot on. I've been trying for weeks to get that 'mistake' out of this machine. Used Unlocker, File Assassin, and Delete at next reboot with RegToy to no avail. Many thanks! regards....j

Yeah, the Kaspersky AVP Tool is a nightmare to uninstall. They don't make it easy. Halo's info helped me once before, but I made the dumb mistake of trying KAVP a 2nd time. (Why? I'm an idiot) That time Halo's info didn't work, and I had to boot to a 'live' boot CD (like Barts) to remove it. I can't believe that it's still around and has decent ratings. I agree with the following statement 100%:

This is a very accurate description of KAVP (IMHO).
