.kdc files won't open

I bought a kodak DC120 camera from a garage sale and it works like a dream. The only problem is that the photos on the compact flash card have .KDC extensions. Now I found out the .KDC is kodaks own type of file. I can't understand why they would want to make things complicated by doing that. I have Photoshop 7.0 but it won't open them. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem? I would much appreciate it.

I don't have any cables, software, but I got the manual online from kodak. I don't want to go to the expense of buying stuff for it if it's going to be a waste of time. Does anyone still use this camera? What's your opinion?
