keep getting "out of Range" on my monitor

I just downloaded mah jong quest from MSN and every time I try to open it, my monitor goes black and I get a blue box saying out of range. I tried adjusting the monitor to 800X600 but it still doesn't work. right now its on 1024X768. if I go any higher then that the monitor automatically goes to out of range. but I can't get any lower then 800x600.

also when I open Maj Jong every time I click on it my mouse arrow goes to the top left corner. every single time.

 

Make sure you are using the latest updated video card drivers.

Start in Safe Mode and change the refresh rate to a range your monitor can support.
