For a while when I came home from college I couldn't get my internet to work, and after flushing the DNS cache it came back. But now the internet is a lot slower then it should be and I can't visit some web sites I used to be able to go to all together. Basically while I'm online the internet just slowly deteriorates until I have to keep renewing the IP address for it to work fine again. Would you guys have any idea on what's going on? All the other computers in my house run fine on the internet so I kno it's not the internet provider I kno it's an issue w/ my laptop. Any ideas? thanks for all the suggestions

Did the require you to install any check point type software. Many do to make sure machines are patched and such, and if said program can't reach the admin side server it may cause issues.

Err also. Does your dsl/link light on your modem go out when you loose connections? Common problem with dsl people add phone devices to the house but forget to filture them depending on the service.

The light stays on, and I haven't done the software on this computer I'll try that tom. but I honestly don't believe that is the problem as my sister's and mom's machines both don't have the software on them and their internet works fine, any other ideas? Also, I think maybe going to my university and coming back was when I first started noticing the problem, hence having to flush the DNS cache for my router to recognize me, could that still be causing problems?
