Keep losing connection

Hey i run windows xp sp3 and have a fairly decent computer for speed and stuff the problem i have is with the internet no matter what browser i use the internet works fine for some things, however if i use somthing like watching a vidio youtube or justin.tv or if im using a webcam of viewing a webcam looking at photos on facebook or playing games it will suddenly lose connection when i go to my connection settin it says im still connected yet i aint connected, i used to restart my computer and it would be fine btu now i just disable and enable connectiona nd then i can carry on untill i do somthin the computer dont like and it will go again as i say its mainly when im streaming a video or looking at photos but it has done it a few times when im just browsing i dont have a wireless i have broadband and comes striaght from a modem can anybody shed some light on this please thanks in advance.

 

I would try updating the driver for the network adapter first. (Type and model can be found in Device Manager under Network Adapters. Go to manufacturer's support site for most recent driver.)
Also check the Power settings for the adapter so it is not in power save mode or anything other than full power.
