Keep Sun Java?

Vista 32: Is there any good reason to keep JRE? When I tried to uninstall it,
I got: Internal Error 2753 Reg Utls Recommendations please.

 

Mark, Thanks for your help. What kinds of website data rendering are you talking about? Yes, Java came pre-installed, but Secunia tells me the latest update fixes security holes. But if I don't ever use the software, I might as well
remove it. Also, if the latest version is downloaded, shouldn't I remove the earlier ones?

Yes, you should remove old version before installing new versions. After uninstalling the old version you should run a cleaner such as CCleaner and reboot before installing the new version.

Help, please: I can't even get 1kbps from my ISP. 4+hrs for this download. Is there a quicker way?

 

Have a friend with a faster internet connection download it to a flash drive and then move the .exe file over to your PC and install it.

Or run it over night and let it do the 4 hours.

 

Lev, I'm having the same issue as the OP and I can't uninstall any of the old versions, and the installer for v6.12 gives me the same issue when I run it. I get that error 2753: regutils.dll. Do you know what I can do to get Java to uninstall then reinstall the new version?
