Kerio and Avast

Does anyone know how to set up kerio firewall so that avast works with it?
I am having problem opening avast on first try.
I believe it may have something to do with the avast web scanner, but I am new to all this and need help.
So if anyone is running them together maybe you can tell me how to set them up to be ok together.

I have been using Kerio with Avast for over a year now and have never had a problem. There was never any conflict.

What exactly is going on?

Now, there is a conflict with the paid version of ZoneAlarm and Avast's web scanner.

If you need Avast specific help, in my opinion, there is no better place than the Avast forum.

when I have kerio installed and go to open avast it will not open on first try.
It also leaves leftovers on monitor. Was going to send screen shot but I don't know how to get it in here to show you.
The leftovers stay until I reboot.
If I leave the leftover on screen I can open avast on second try.
Hope I am making sense to you.

Hmmm...Does Avast work OK if Kerio is not installed?

It works fine, no problems. Opens right up.
I was wondering if maybe the avast web scanner has something to do with it.
When I used zone alarm on installing it asks to shut off the avast web scanner in order for zone alarm to work.
I really don't know as I am not that computer savy.....
I have read the avast forums and one person had my problem, but never got answer on how to fix it.

 

Wow, I really don't know. I knew the problem existed with ZoneAlarm (Pro) but have never heard of any issues with Kerio and Avast. I have used them together on as many as 3 machines myself, and I know of several others personally who use this combo with no troubles.

You say that you used to use ZoneAlarm? Did you uninstall it before installing Kerio?

I guess you could try turing off the Web Shield and see if that helps.

I would still post on the Avast forum. Or even e-mail Avast support. I have had good responses to questions using both.

Unfortunately, if the problem is Kerio related, the Kerio user forum does not exist anymore since Sunbelt bought it. However, i think most of the regulars set up shop at CastleCops.

I did uninstall zone alarm completely before I installed kerio.....
I will check out castlecops and see if I can find out anything.

That is not the same procuct.

That version of Avast is for the current true Kerio products, (higher end server type stuff I think) not the Sunbelt acquired Kerio Personal Firewall 4, which is what I assumed you are talking about.

And you are talking about Avast Home edition, correct?
