kernel32.dll Error?

Hi Guys!

I do not know what I have done and cannot go to an earlier restore point on my XP machine. On right clicking any file on my computer I get the following error upon which explorer.exe shuts down and restarts.


Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2800.1221, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.1.2600.1560, fault address 0x00012875.


Any suggestions on what to do?

I have run both Spybot and Adaware, keep my OS uptodate (although not installed SP2 on it, I have XP Pro). All drivers uptodate, and ran Norton Utilities.

Just don't know what to do.

i get a kernel32.exe error as well on my roommates machine popping up in a blue screen followed by immediate restart . . . and then when i boot again it says it has recovered from a "fatal error" - this kept occurring for a week - exact same as shaq - now it can't even find the hard drive and when pressing F8 . . . nothing . . . not even safe boot as an option

i'm with shaq in asking what's up with kernal32 errors??? it seems pretty drastic or indicative of a hardware failure within the HDD . . . any ideas?
