KERNEL32.DLL is destroying my life!

Here's another problem (the first one I described in HERE ...my system is described in that earlier post as well.).

I frequently encounter "error in KERNEL32.DLL" that causes me to have to reboot my machine. For example, I'll be minding my own business when all of a sudden a little box appears in the middle of my screen that says: "Rundll32 has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer."

First of all, "Rundll32" (and I have no idea what that is) is not the only thing that causes this problem. I get this message with all kinds of different causes cited. Then, there is a little "OK box" for me to click on but this does nothing. I am forced to restart my compter every time this happens- and it seems to be happening with increasing frequency.

Is my system heading for an unrecoverable disaster?

 

Do a full backup one night this week. Backing up your files when you smell trouble is like Samuel Adams always a good decision. Invest little more brainpower, time or cash on it.

I've learned the hard way that you can't be too careful like that. I have an external hard-drive and automatically back up my entire system 3 times a week. Thanks!

 

Wow... that looks like it might help! I don't have time to go through the whole process this mornign but this definitely warrants further scrutiny. Thanks and I'll report my results!
