seems like a silly question to be asking what with all the more "serious" questions being asked in this section, but i was wondering if you all could suggest a good keyboard/mouse combo for me.

really the only requirements are that its wireless, for a pc, and generally good for gaming, (i mostly do fps games but on occasion fire up some rts if that matters)

    thanks!

The logitec MX700 mouse and keyboard combo is one of the most common ones. Although basicly any of them work. It's just a good idea to make sure there is a station to hang the mouse up so you arn't changing the batteries every other day.

If you want something fancier you could get the mx1000 mouse, but I don't know if they offer it as a combo with the keyboard, and even if they do it's most likely the same wireless keyboard.

    My Mother-in-law has this....

It doesn't have the cradle for the mouse, but the keyboard and the mouse both run on two AA batteries each. She plays online poker all day every day, and she only has to replace the batteries in the mouse, and/or keyboard about once every month, which is pretty good considering that she uses the mouse non-stop and is using the keyboard ALOT because she chats with her fellow poker players in the poker room!! Personally I and my mother-in-law like this option because we don't like all the cords hanging around the back side of the desk, and if you have the cradle...that is just one more thing you have to plug in!!!!

actually now that i'm bored at work and am sort of researching, i think the LX700 is out, pretty much everyone agrees that it isnt good if you plan on gaming. so now its either the logitech mx3100, mx700, or MX w/ bluetooth

    Howdy,
Personally, I wouldn't prefer to use a cordless keyboard or mouse for gamming. If you do go for the wireless option (which apparently you are) beware of bluetooth. Bluetooth may be nice with its range and other features, but if you have a wireless network (or possibly a 2.4 Ghz cordless phone) bluetooth could possibly be a nightmare. This is because because bluetooth operates at 2400 to 2483.5 Mhz. This is basically the same freqency range wireless networks work at. I have seen these these thing bring wireless networks to a halt. But, if this isn't of concern, going with bluetooth could be a good choice.

Have a wireless network throughout my house,mx 1000 wireless mouse, and v600 with bluetooth and a bluetooth headset. No problems what so ever.

so the only advantage bluetooth has over regular wireless is range? i dont think i really need that extra range if theres the possibility that it could screw up the wireless network im running on
