Dell desktop O/S Vista, only 5 weeks old. Every time the PC is switched on, a message appears on screen:

    Keyboard Failure

Press F1 to continue F2 to enter Set up

As the keyboard has failed, how on earth can i press either F1 or F2?!!
No keys respond at all. My answer has been to Reboot and everything works fine on restart. I contacted Dell about this and they suggested that I check the keyboard regional settings - which i did and they are fine!
Anyone know where to look other than above suggestion by Dell?

    is it a USB keyboard?

If it is try moving it to a different USB slot the next time it happens. Or boot it up once with a USB to PS2 converter on and see if that helps. Make sure there isn't any dust bunnies in the USB port too, those things will wreak havoc with USB plugs.

This is the root of the problem, I think?
Instead of the Keyboard failure message, I get USB Error on screen.

No dust, checked in different ports. Will try this keyboard on wednesday and see what it says.

    Cheers
