keyboard not responding

Keyboard quit responding on Presario---tried different keyboard and tried uninstalling from device manager and then lettting computer plug and play. Keyboard shows up in device manager as "normal". Not sure what else to try. Any ideas? Thanks.

 

I take it you have shut the computer off completely, let it set for a few minutes, then reboot?

yes..trow keyboard away

no.. try USB keyboard, or it maybe your mobo....

 

See if it works in Safe Mode. Also, do any of your keyboard lights come on?

keyboard lights come on during boot but not after. Keyboard doesn't work in safe mode. Have tried other keyboards --no luck.

Had to restore cpu to original factory settings--keyboard now works fine---still a mystery as to what transpired.

I'm glad you got it figured out. Whatever transpired is starting to get fairly common, lot of keyboard issues starting to show up.
