    Hi,
I have a 90 day old Compaq Presario V5000 notebook. A few days ago the computer would freeze up when I touched the keyboard. I would have to power off and reboot. The computer works fine with the touchpad, but not any keys.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the keyboard drivers, Under device manager and the Quick Launch Buttons properties (under keyboard), it shows the following:

"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system."

I used the troubleshooter, but to no avail. The resouce in conflict is the Touchpad, both using I/O Range of 0060 and 0064.

When I boot in safe mode, the keyboard still causes the notebook to freeze.

Does anybody have any idea of what I can do?

    Thx,
    Jim

Don't stuff around with it. any more.
Take it back to where you bought it from, and let them sort it out. ;) Bazza
