the keyboard on my laptop is playing up. some of the keys have stopped working and i don't know why. i have not damaged the laptop in any way but the 1,2,w,s,x,q,a,z, caps lock and tab keys have stopped working for a while now.

If anyone could shed some light as to how to fix this or what might be wrong that would be great!!!

If under warranty either get repaired under warranty or go to Dell web site there you can download Service Repair Manual which has detailed info how to gain access to keyboard cable etc or even remove it.

Dont use hover vacume static elec can Kill, compressed air is better, clean keyboard and cable & check cable connection's then reasemble that should solve your problem.

You can try search feature here at MG I have made several threads about Dell keyboards

Few yr back Dell had recall er service thing regarding thier laptop's keyboards.

Gotta run, chech on your thread latter.
