Keyboard Question

Working on a Medion lappy, some letters on the keyboard stopped working, including a letter needed for the security password. This maybe software related, but given the age and condition, I'm thinking keyboard.
I've removed the keyboard pad, looking for recommendations on how to give it a thorough cleaning in the hopes it may solve the problem. I know about using canned air, but any other ideas, like using an alcohol solution or something??

 

As plodr says, try to locate the cause of the fault.
I believe that laptop k/bs - at least in most major brands, I don't know about Medion - seem pretty easy to replace, in older IBM/Lenovos you need to remove the k/b to change one of the SO-DIMMs. You have to be careful of course (when I did it one the key caps fell off), but the k./b lifts out and is connected by a pluggable connector. There seem to be plenty of k/bs on ebay for HPs, so there could one that fits your model of Medion
As for how exactly to remove the k/b, if it is not described in a manual (maybe you can get an appropriate one [may have to be the service manual] from Medion ?), likely there is a video somewhere, e.g., youtube, Laptopparts, etc. Often you only need to find out how to strip a similar (Medion) laptop down so far, not necessarily find a video titled 'how to change the k/b on a Medion 12-xy'
