I live in Belgium as most of you know but what is strange about this land is their PC, they use a different keyboard layout to most other countries.
We have an AZERTY keyboard where most others have QWERTY
OK so my problem i have two machines my laptop is running XP Home and my desktop is Vista Home premium.

if i do a fresh re-install of the OS on the laptop during installation i come to the part where you can set input language and keyboard settings with XP i set the input language to English and the keyboard to Belgian point this enables me to load software in English and have the AZERTY key board working with all the letters in the right place.
Now on my vista machine i get to the same place and select input language to English it will not let me select Belgian point for the keyboard and consequentially all the keys are in the wrong order if i press A i get Q for Z i get W and so on, the only way i can get my keyboard right is to select input language Dutch (Belgian) but then any (most but not all) programs i load go to dutch even though i select English as the installation language.

is there any way in Vista to select input language English and keyboard input Belgian point short of buying a QWERTY keyboard.

i have had Vista a while now and this is my only complaint.

thanks for reading this far,I hope it makes sense.

I just looked at Regional and Language Options in my notebook PC running Vista Home Premium and see an option to add a keyboard. With Regional and Language Options open, select the tab titled Keyboards and Languages. Click Change Keyboards. When the Text Services and Input Languages panel opens, select the General tab if not already selected, click Add, and proceed to select the country.

I don't know what this actually does and whether it will be helpful with your issue.

YEP i have tried that but the result is the same it will not let me select the Belgian keyboard without the input language.

XP will do it without any problems but Vista does not want to know!!!

I think the best thing is to fire off an E-Mail to Microsoft and see what they say.

I just hoped someone here might have a quick fix?
