Keyboard Sticky Key problem

As a follow on from THIS THREAD, I seem to have found what is starting the problem of the strange key functions.

The problem seems to "turn on" after keeping a key pressed for a certain amount of time. For example, if I'm scrolling through the windows that are open by using Alt-Tab, because I have the Alt key pressed for a certain amount of time it turns the strange function on which I disscussed with abri in the above thread (ie. Alt becomes "Mute", Left-Shift becomes "Calculator" etc.).

This continues until I hold the key again for a certain amount of time and the function disappears.

This is very frustrating when performing certain functions whilst I'm at the PC so is there a setting I need to change or is it possibly my keyboard asting-up?

    Thanks in advance.

To see if sticky keys might be enabled, head to Control Panel (Classic View so all icons showing)/Accessibility Options/Keyboard tab
    just uncheck sticky keys

Thanks, but I've already tried that. It's not enabled or activated from the Control Panel.

I wondered if it went deeper than that?
