Keyboard

Im finding when I type on my keyboard the letters repeat. E.G. RRRRRR any help appreciated..Running Windows ME full installation.Emachine-466mhz-256sdram.

If you go to Control Panel, Keyboard, there should be a slider for Repeats (Repeat delay, Repeat speed, whatever Repeat) that you can set to Long Delay. That means that you have to hold a key down for a longer while before it starts to repeat.

Try that first. If no luck, ...

You have a new or old keyboard? Did you install drivers, or did it come with the drivers installed? Are you using a keyboard that came with an installation CD, as the MS keyboards do?

Thanks Wisewiz I will try that. My emachine keyboard went belly up so I got an old Compaq from my son and just plugged it in.It worked ok with his WindowsXP but acts up with my ME.

 

Well, what did you find out???

I hate it when you guys don't come back and report on successes and failures.

Sorry friend but had a busy day.I changed the repeat settings.Unpluged and replugged my keyboard in and cleaned it with no success.My son gave me another and all is well.Thanks for your input and I appologize for not getting back to you sooner.

 

AHA! Bad board, eh? Well, there's nothing software settings can do to fix a dying keyboard, but we tried, anyhoo.
