Don't ask me how, but a friend uses a publishing application that doesn't have a spellchecker, and for some reason he cannot compose a document in Word and then paste it into the program. Without commenting on how such a situation could exist, is there any way for him to mirror his keyboard so that it simultaneously outputs to the publishing app and a laptop running Word? That way he could just look over at the laptop screen and see what needed correcting.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

This one hurt my head a little thinking about it! Google finally yielded a possible solution for you. I am not sure if this will work, but I think it will. Get a USB keyboard and a USB Hub. Hook the keyboard up to the hub, and then connect the hub to the computers via USB cables.

    Hope that helps!

Ever googled windows spell checker.. there are stand alone programs..like

"It is a small utility that allows you to easily and quickly check and correct the spelling in any Windows application."

Thanks for the responses. The problem is, it's not a hardware or software problem, it's a user problem or perhaps a lack of time problem. There may be some kind of problem with the pasting. Hence I was hoping to find a hardware solution to the user problem. Software could work too but would likely require more user configuration which he will not be adept at. So I was just hoping for something that could mirror output from one keyboard so that he could have an app spellchecking what he types.

I'm not sure about the USB hub suggestion. Would this work? My understanding is that a USB hub is not like, say, an ethernet hub, actually allowing multiple computers to connect, but rather a self powered device that expands the power supply and number of ports for a single computer's USB host interface.
