Like some of his music never bought any of his albums, but let me tell you... He puts on one hell of a show. If you ever get the chance dont miss it. Cool stuff, they often start playing known songs like Back In Black for 15-20 seconds then go into their songs. He plays keyboards, drums, piano, guitar and more. Nice pyros and huge confetti spray at the end. Did a little sit down called "If I was President" that was funny. I was amazed what a good show they put on.

His guitarists RAWK. They have some custom amps on order from a guy in Ithaca. Their tone is going to be Godly very soon ;).

I would rather go to the Metallica concert OCT 3rd.

saw them too (same concert). james hurt his back and wasn't able to play, so members of the other bands came out and played with them. that was even cooler.

IMO, thats what makes a decent band these days. It seems like anyone can make a record, but precious few can "put on a show". I was immensley dissapointed when I saw the Foo Fighters play live on TV the other day... They totally sucked! I like the music, but it was a really crap gig.

I was probably put off by the shoddy tech as well. TV live techs are useless from all I can tell. Step dad did sound for a 24hr televised version of Figaro, he offered to mix it for them... they refused. Fair enough. But with their staff doing broadcast feed AND foldback, they managed to TURN OFF the main singers radio-mic. How did they manage that!!?!? It was the BBC too... you'd expect at least some competance. </rant>

    Metallica sucks.

Everything past the black album blows chunks.

no offense but go get your own opinion and actually listen to Load, ReLoad and Symphony&MetallicA, all 3 are good albums.

    St. Anger however blows chunks.

I did listen to those albums.

    Now don't assume I didn't ;)

As far as Im concerned, Load and Reload were the albums where Metallica tried to wear the pants of a typical sellout band.

As for me getting my own opinion, are you insenuating that I am not voicing my opinion? So who's opinion is it then?

I know the Black album and ealier albums from them were before your time, but come now, maybe you should listen to them?

    ;)

    Score: 1-1

    everyone elses.
too often do people say "everything after Black sucks!!!1112334765" without even listening to it.
my apologies to you sir :)

(gotta agree though Load & ReLoad do have some good songs on them and S&M just owns (Except for MoP, which is lame) ;))

edit: I own every album, including Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning & ...And Justice For All, so I have listened to those as well.

you want a good concert see linkin park or korn

Korn will have your ears ringing...they have the world record for the loudest PA system. Damn were they awesome. Yall want a single is a fun song to see 50,000 middle fingers in the air. Saw them at DTE (Pine Knob formerly) and there was lots of dust in the air and about 4 mosh pits 100+ feet wide.

Been to two linkin park concerts and man do they rock, its awesome when they bring out the piano. They are damn good live, I like them live better than the album. Get live in texas for a glimpse.

Havnt been to a kid rock concert but he does do alot of them around here...he's from the area. Did 3 last month I think. Maybe ill go to one sometime soon.

that seems to happen alot, he did the same in atlanta a few years ago, korn and kid rock came in and helped, I believe system of a down was there as well

Most metallica fans I know from the 80's believe everything after master of puppets suck, after that, it was all commercialized, no more underground stuff. I happen to like all except the radio tracks( sold out for the dollar, nothing wrong with it everyone has to make money, but got away from there core following that kept them going in the early years. went more mainstream for the paycheck)

I like kid rock, although I have no cd's, but I like his fused sound. He Rocks living up to his name

    Ride the Lightning...

But, I'm getting too old for that stuff...

MA... glad the show went off well, and glad to know some bands are not so "canned".

Was starting to think rock-n-roll was dead.
I just can't appreciate too much of the current stuff.
    Guns-n-Roses, though...
I would like to see them play, but...
They say that main guy has been barred from the whole industry...
...nobody will tour him because he is so hard to get along with?

    True?

    No, I take it back...
    Ronnie James Dio
now, THAT would be a good show.
He is such a powerful vocalist, and he surrounds himself with competent band members. I wonder if he still has that drummer, Vincent Applesie?

And, Deep Purple, with Richard Blackmore...
That would be a nice show...

    Geeshe...
These guys gotta be getting too old...

we are dating ourselves, but I saw Ronnie james Dio in Hawaii at the NBC, man it was loud and great, Vinnie Appice was his drummer, brother of metal drumming great Carmine. when I was young my favorite album was Deep Purple made in Japan. problem was no one knew of Deep Purple except my closest friends, but I have liked Ritche Blackmore ever since. yeah, that had to be the early '70s. these guys have to be close to Mick Jaggers age.

I saw a movie called "Almost Famous"
It really captured the "old school" rock-n-roll scene feeling, I think.

    Those days are gone, though.

radiohead was the best concert I've ever seen. not a lot of crazy stuffm no pyro. Just straight up rocking. It's the only time I've ever danced in public, if you call what I do dance that is.

Yunno that movie was a loose adaptation of the director's life right? When He was 15-16 years old he was freelancing for Rolling Stone and went on tour with Led Zeppelin to write a huge article for the mag. Great movie :)

Of the new bands that are around now, I'm diggin Velvet Revolver. Probably cause it's made up of some veterans, but they've got a kewl sound

Hijack this thread... of newer bands, I like the offspring for the social commentary in their lyrics and System of a Down, not for everyone, but these guys are good musicians, the way they change tempos during a song is like a Heavy metal version of Kansas.

  26. Adrynalyne

    Adrynalyne Guest

    Heavy Metal Kansas?

Hmmm...thats one heck of a stretch there ;)

  27. madscott

    madscott Private E-2

my analogy was misunderstood, I wasn't really comparing the music, I was comparing the tempo changes, no the music isn't even close. although I like both
