ok. .what I did was install it on another PC
just to check it out
if I ran it on the one I use, would it do any good to create a restore point incase something screws up?

and do you recomend anything to completly wipe a hdd( I would like to put it in miy pc)

well, a restore point wouldn't hurt any. You can format your HDD a couple of times and that will do a decent job. You could low level format.. but that's not suggested.

If you want to wipe your hard disk drive (HDD) of EVERYTHING , then you can format it several times over and it will do a decent job. A low level format is usually done by the manufacturer and is not typically recommended afterwards.

 

the thing is. . a few years ago my dad gave me a pc with two functional hdd
one with the os and sh** and one for storage
and I have this old one now with win2k, that i have free'd of infection
and want to put the HDD into my current pc(running XP)

okay. . .now what does that mean?

 

that you need to reboot to DOS and remove the partition then format it.

you could also use KillDisk.

i did look there(beleive it or not)
read it more than once

I did manage to change it form FAT32 to NTFS
but I do not want an OS on it
I just want to be able to access it like any dir.
