Hey all, I've been having some issues with my ODD lately. It seems to be working fine when playing a music CD or any CD-Rom, though, I am getting major lag when trying to run a DVD, any idea's on what the issue could be? I can't figure this one out. All of the drivers are up-to-date, and I have done an uninstall and re-install of the drive itself.

    Thanks in advance,

    -Gig

How much installed RAM (I notice your nickname :D) have you?
    How much FREE ram?
What DVD player are you using?
I assume you are using XP? Bazza

One of the disadvantages of showing your system specs in your sig is that there is no indication on any thread that system specs have been loaded.

Maybe the mods should devise, and include, an icon beside a nickname, that specs are included. Then I'd use it for my system, and look it up, for others

I, for one, never check out a sig for system specs, as I don't know what percentage of Mg 'ers bother to use that facility.
I would guess that the percentage using it, would be very small. Bazza

No idea, but I've been having the same problem running a DVD on my Dell Inspiron 1150. It's got 512RAM, which probably isn't sufficient since not all of that is available when I play a DVD. When the lag starts, I can pause my DVD, and start it up a few seconds later to postpone the lags...but they always come right back up less than a minute later.
