Im not familiar with the game, but if your playing with people with crappy connections, its possible 1 bad connection slows down everyone. Often times, you can avoid this by looking at the list of players and try and find a server where everyone has a 100 ms ping or better. Up to 150-200 isnt too bad, but beyond that, its possible their connection is affecting you. You also want to try other servers, ones close to you so its a shorter "hop" as its called.
