    Hi All,

    I have a modem/Wi fi router which I hang a lot of devices off.

    My main comp Win 7 connects to the router via ethernet.

    A second computer (XP) connects via ethernet cable too, with the addition of a network switch. (Also running off this network switch is a network printer and second router in bridge mode to extend Wi Fi in the house. ) .

    This all worked perfectly until it didn't!

    The XP machine (no fire wall; sharing enabled) can only be accessed with my Win 7 machine (Ethernet) BUT any other computers that use WI FI to connect, can't access this computer BUT can access any other computer on the network.

    When trying to access the XP machine, computers connecting to the LAN via Wi Fi can "see" the XP machine but can't open any folder and get an error message concluding "A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated. "

    Working on the prinicple that the problem lies with the XP machine, I have tried:
    static and dynamic IP addresses
    changing the workgroup name back and forth (they all match)
    confirmed the same sub net.
    connected the XP machine directly to the router (ie cut out the switch).
    switched everything off and on with every change

    No progress.

    Can any one suggest what the problem is?

    Cheers

    Dins
