    Hey.

I have a situation that I don't know how to solve and I would like to ask for help from the experts...

I have a pc connected to a LAN network with internet access (via proxy), but without access to some certain sites. As I need to access these sites and I have an USB Pen with internet, I thought of connecting it simultaneously to access these sites.

Still, I cannot access these sites (even after configuring the browser not to use any proxy). I suppose that all internet access is going through the LAN network Gateway/DNS, ignoring the internet connection provided by the USB pen.

Can anyone tell me the best way of forcing certain sites to use the internet connection provided by the USB pen and not via LAN network, so I can access these, being simultaneously connected via LAN and with the USB pen?

    Thanks in advance.

Is this a work or school LAN that you are attempting to circumvent the proxy that administration has put in place? And as for what you are stating is a USB Pen, do you mean a pocket drive (ie thumb drive)?

It is actually a work LAN with internet access via proxy server. I need to continue using the LAN for other purposes (other than internet access), but I would still need to access some sites which are not allowed by this LAN.

That's why I mentioned I have an USB 3G modem to connect to internet also.

Both connections (LAN + 3G) are able to be active at the same time, but it seems all my internet traffic is being sent through the LAN regardless of if I have an active 3G connection or not.

    Thanks in advance.

As far as I know there's no facility to make one site use one internet connection and another site use another. I could be wrong.

Have you talked to your site admin about letting your proxy allow you to the sites you need to visit? I'd think they'd have a facility for you to do your work.

pplucky, since this is a work LAN, I would forget about getting around the security that the IT group has put in place. Unless you want to be shown the door, I would not do it, or attempt to get around the policies.
