note: Now I was not entirely sure as to where I should put this so if this isn't the best place I would appreciate it if someone kindly places it in another more appropriate spot.

My problem: I'm trying to pick up Armenian and so I installed a language from Microsoft thinking that it would be the same as the Japanese language pack that I have installed. Instead all of my text is now in Armenian so even trying to pull a systems restore is proving... troublesome, to say the least.

I want to return my system's language to English but I don't want to accidentally press something that I shouldn't.
Below is a screenshot to let you see what's going on.

If somebody has any ideas, tips, advice that they can spare my ears are wide open.

    Thanks,
    the ClocK

Where did you download this language pack from? Can you give us a link to that download page on Microsoft's sites, please? There must be a way of uninstalling the Armenian language pack and reinstalling the English one. If you're lucky you'll only need to download the English language pack because there is a chance that the English Microsoft program will ask you if you want to replace the language pack.

Your PC was "born" in English (?) so we should be able to find a rescue procedure, I believe. But give us that link so that we can se for ourselves what we're talking about here...

Well, you definitely need to uninstall this Armenian Windows XP LIP because unlike the MUI system LIP does not allow you to change language. Do you remember if your were asked during download if you wanted to replace your English language pack with the Armenian one? Don't uninstall yet...

My best best judgement is that it should be safe to just uninstall the Armenian language pack via Add/remove programs. Your PC should reverse to default settings: English. I don't think there is any real trouble here. Run CCleaner afterwards - it's registry cleaner option included.

If you check your Japanese language pack's listing in Add/remove programs you'll see that it is a MUI pack? Not a LIP. So you should just look for an Armenian MUI pack if you want a parallel to your Japanese. But check it first, please.

I managed to wade through the Armenian and find the system restore. Comparing my screen with step-by-step photos I was able to restore the system to before I installed the Armenian Interface Pack.

Everything's back to normal. Thanks for your help!
