Language settings WinXP / Office2k3

Guys,

Help me out here. I have just started a new job and have inherited a laptop. I'm having a couple of issues with language settings.

We are a French company, with IT services coming from Germany, but I am UK based !!!

I have 2 problems at the moment.

1 - Browsers, ie7 and ff, websites default to germany. For example, if I type google.com in the address bar, I actually get google.de. If I goto multimap.com, the location defaults to Germany.
Everytime I visit ebay.co.uk, I get prompted to switch to ebay germany.
- Where can I find this setting and change it !!!

2 - Office 2003. Dictionary in Powerpoint appears to be in French and I can't see how to change the language settings. Word and Excel are OK, in English. I cant understand why it would just be ppoint thats different!

Any help on this would be much appreciated. I know that us English should really make more of an effort when it comes to European languages, but not when I'm trying to get my head around the new systemés !

Windows langauge is set to UK, locale is UK.

Have you set up in Control Panel>Regional and Language Options?

Yes, of course, that was the first place I checked. everything there is set to UK.
