Laptop Battery Replacement

Hi guys,

I would like your expert assistant please.

Short; help in choosing correct replacement battery.

Details;
I was brought a laptop that was not charging. So I suspect the battery to be the problem based on the age of the laptop, now I'm aware that there could be other issues that cause none charging, such as a problem with the charging circuit on the mobo, and problems with the adapter.

The laptop works with ac power and the adapter is the original. The charging circuit is very difficult to detect, and might only be deduced by elimination of other possibilities, if you know of another way to check it, please inform me.

The laptop is a Lenovo - ThinkPad
Type 1198-A21

I'm not sure what all those numbers mean, but I have deduced that the FRU and ASM numbers are the battery part numbers.

They all say they support the Edge E425 but my main concern is they don't have the part number on the battery from the laptop I saw.

I'm looking at the first one in particular.
Can anyone confirm for me whether this battery will work or is compatible with the 11998-A21 Lenovo ThinkPad Laptop?

The third one lists "42T4753" in the detailed product description. It has decent user reviews and appears to be the least expensive.

The second (genuine Lenovo) battery lists your model in the description but is about three times the price.

I'd go with the third one - it appears to be the best value.

It sort of does and doesn't. In the list you are referring to, first they list just numbers, then ASM numbers then FRU numbers; I don't know if they can be used interchangeably.
