Laptop Constantly Asking to Dial-up

Hi,
First of all, I haven't been here in a while and I LOVE the new feature of similar threads appearing before you post! Saves so much time.

Second, I am so annoyed with my pop-up box to dial-up to the internet. My laptop is connected wirelessly to Desktop with Linksys modem, we have Cable (Road Runner) service. Yet whenever I click something that will cause use of internet (starting email, clicking a link, posting to my blog, etc) the dial-up box pops up - I have to click "cancel" to make it disappear and then it will continue loading. If I don't click cancel - everything is on hold until I do.

How can I fix this? It comes up almost every time I click something as well as every few minutes or so while reading a page online.

I feel like half my time is devoted to clicking the dang box to disappear!

this happens to me aswell, im on a desktop pc and i agree it appears with just about every link i click.

Someone please help!

 

In XP Control panel, Network & Internet connections, Internet options, connections and click on the radio button to never dial, should solve your issue.
