    hey all,
well im new to the laptop field. and mine seems to be gettin pretty hot but not hot for a laptop. but as we all know, heat is the devil to laptops. i know with desktops you can get fans and all added to your case or even bigger and faster ones. i was wondering if anyone knows of anything that you can add, or any bigger fans that can be installed into a laptop. i have one of those cooling mats as they are called and they seem to not be working as well as i thought. but i guess some is better then none. Anyway, thanks for all that answer.

Good luck on finding anything that will fit into your laptop. One thing I find helpful, is actually propping up the backend of the laptop, cause a lot of heat gets trapped on the bottom of some laptops. Other than that, perhaps using your laptop in one of the walk in refridgerators you find at the beer store might help.

haha, well the cooling mat that i have, does prop up the back end of the laptop. here is a link of it. well i assume that its ok for them to get hot because laptops have been getting hot since the day they have been coming out. but anyway here is a link of it, its not the best one, but its the only one that best buy had instock when i was there.

I use my laptop for folding so it's running @ 100% for about 12 hours a day and it's toasty hot all the time. Been going for well over 6 months of folding without any hitches (touch wood!) but the cooling mat looks like a good idea...

yeha they are a good idea. i heard that they can lower like 3-6 degrees in the temps. may not be muhc t use, but to our AMDs, or Centrinos its alot. but yeah i mean $35 isnt much to see how it works...

im jus surprised that they dont ahve other methods of cooling them off, like faster fans that move more CFMs or w.e that you can put in place of the stock ones or something.

your laptop is designed to run at those temps, unless their a heat problem with that specific model I wouldnt worry about it,cleaning all the dust out will help though,my p42.8 presario used to keep my legs nice and toasty :) ,I swear when I put my cup of tea next to the main extractor fan it kept my cup of tea warm longer, the fan on that thing was pretty annoying though, turn the TV up annoying :)
