My Dell Inspiron 1100 wouldn't boot. Something about a Drivers file being corrupted. (The name of the file had a 32 in it somewhere). I had been trying to download new drivers or updates from Dell when it froze. I powered down and then couldn't reboot. (I'm trying to get a cheap microphone to work with a language learning program.)

I reloaded (or repaired?) my windows xp OS, but it is old! Service pack 1! I'm having difficulty getting things up to date. I did the repair while the computer was connected to the internet, so I kept getting messages about the system being out of date. Maybe Windows tried to update too many things at once? Should I buy a new computer?

    Thanks in advance.
