    Hi

I have a Dell Latitude with XP Pro SP3 and it randomly crashes and creates a minidump file. I would like some help reading the minidump if possible?
Here is the contents of the file....

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi

Your issue is with the Microsoft XPS Viewer, which is a bit like Adobe's PDF, so is it actually when you are opening an XPS file that this happens? if not please describe what you are doing when this happens, like what application/s you are using.

You have SP3 for XP so that should be ok, but is your Microsoft .Net 3.5 or .Net 4.0 up to date and do also check Windows Update for updates and install whats listed.

Try also following the advice HERE and more so installing the XPS essentials pack again.

Do boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot) and see if this issue happens?

If David's suggestion doesn't fix the problem, try updating the Intel graphics drivers, get them from Intel's site - NOT from MS/Windows Update.

If you're still getting BSOD's after that, copy the latest 5 minidumps to your Desktop, zip and upload them as an attachment, I'll try to check them over.

Thanks for your help guys. The trouble is that it is not my laptop. it is one of the users i look after. He said it just happens randomly and can't pinpoint exactly when it happens or what he is doing.
I will try all that is suggested here when i can get back onto users laptop... and post results.

    Thanks again

    Hi Darrenbee

No probs, but do get the user to note what they are doing at the times of the crashes and what apps they are using? all helps.

Also get them to run in Safe Mode for a bit and see if that is any better as that will aim us to thing of a 3rd party application as the issue/cause.

    and indeed attach the minidumps.
