So I was looking up stuff on my laptop while i played a game on my ps3, a friend of mine asked me to login to a mmo for a sec so I did and like 10mins later my screen started flickering and then the laptop bluescreened and turned off. I noticed the laptop where the power supply fan is was really hot and i have had heating problems with this thing since i got it less than 2 years ago but nothing like this, I even went out and bought a good fan for under it and it didn't help.

it wont login to windows at all the closest i get is the loading thing for vista then it bluescreens again. is there a way I could find out exactly whats wrong with it? or a possible fix? the bios loads too fast so I cannot see what the options are.

the laptop is a compaq presario CQ50-215NR if that helps any.

any help would be much appreciated, I use this for trips and I have an out of state one coming up soon.

Look for where the hot air comes out near the fan and blow strongly into that hole. This is to attempt to remove any dust that is in there. Dust can have a very large impact on heating/cooling.

One word of caution, though: If you decide to use anything stronger, like a vacuum cleaner, then make sure you prevent the fan from spinning first, as if the fan is allowed to spin above it's rated speed then it might be damaged.
