I'm trying to help a friend get his Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop going again. We had to reload Windows XP Pro and all of the updates and requisite drivers. I can't however get the display to use the full screen. I have it set at 800x600 just so it will use most of the screen. I'm sure there is a chipset or a driver I am missing. Using the laptops service tag, this is the list of available downloads. http://support.dell.com/support/dow...=en&s=gen&SystemID=INS_PNT_6000&os=WW1&osl=EN
Any guidance is always appreciated. Thanks.

I checked your download link and there were three video adapters available for download for this particular model. You could download this and run it, and will then have an idea of what video adapter is in the computer and which software to download. http://majorgeeks.com/EVEREST_Free_Edition_d4181.html. Hope this helps!:)
