Laptop Eating Bandwidth

    Hello,
    Here's the history:
We have several devices on our WiFi. Last week, it started going extremely slowly such that sites were loading html or not at all. After troubleshooting with my ISP, we narrowed it down to my laptop eating up all the bandwidth.

When I connect to WiFi and open Task Manager>Performance, the WiFi shows s: going between 8 and 120, sometimes higher and rarely 0; r: between 8 and 500ish and rarely 0. These numbers happen even if I have no browser open and no other programs running. If I hardwire instead of wireless, the Ethernet numbers are better, but not by much.

Before finding MajorGeeks, I ran MalwareBytes, CCleaner, and HitmanPro. No malicious software was found and the bandwidth overuse continued.

I have since followed every step in the Read Me First Thread. RogueKiller found two things. I did not do anything with the info except to download the log for you, which I've attached.

After following all the steps, the WiFi numbers were low and even went to 0 when there wasn't a browser open. They would jump up and around when I opened a tab, and then settle down to 0-16 or so. I compared this with another laptop in the house and both were acting the same. That seemed good. But this morning, the numbers were high again, even without a browser open. They aren't as bad as before I ran all your programs, but they aren't good either.

Question: Can I rerun RogueKiller and remove what it found?
2nd Question: Is there anything on the attached logs that explains why my computer is eating up bandwidth?
I am using an Acer 4 GB memory, 500 GB hard drive, Windows 10

    Thanks for your help!
    Cyndy

I am not finding any malware in your logs. Perhaps it is OneDrive that is running at start up that is causing the bandwidth usage. Either way, you need to post in the software forum for further assistance.

Since you are not having any malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8 or 10, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
