Hope this is the right section. Is there a way or program that will make my laptop fan stay on. Right now it comes on at start up then off again right after startup is complete or atleast I dont hear it or feel it blowing out. I am going to try to clean inside the laptop tomorrow with compressed air can. Laptop seems hot on bottom of it.

    HP Omnibook 6100
    1.13mhz
256mbs of ram (yes Im getting more LOL)
    xp home

    Hi

The CPU and fans tend to moderate themselfs to the temp of the PC, its its within tollerance it fans are fairly quiet, until you do something that needs more CPU power and thats when you will hear them spin up louder to move more air.

I find that my laptops have a warm butt! but if the PC is having no issues then I would not worry too much about it, just make sure that the fan grills are always clean from dust and have the laptop on a surface that wont block the bottom grills.

Depending on the BIOS of the PC, you could have some setting for Fan speed, or more so in the BIOS the Hardware Monitor section is a place to look, to see if you can adjust the CPUfan Speed.
    Could use Speedfan
