Laptop for College

Hey everybody I need help deciding on what laptop to buy for college! I am going to a 4 year university and will be studying mass communications. My choices are a SONY, AlIEN WARE, or an APPLE MACBOOK PRO. I have about $1800 to spend on a laptop and I just want to get the best. If any of you could offer advice that would be great! Thanks

Alien Wares Cheapest laptop is 1,799 at the moment after a $200 rebate. Than you have to know if you want windows or apple too.

 

dellienware's out of the question for how much you have to spend. I'd say your best bet is to go with the sony.

 

Ya i guess if you rule out alienware for the price. It comes to sony and apple. THan you decide if you want apple or windows. My personal choice is windows. But that is because i am not familiar with apple.

 

You say you are going into studies for mass communications...does this mean you will be doing a lot multimedia stuff, such as editing audio, video, etc.??

I personally have never owned a Mac/Apple, but the talk of the town says Mac/Apple is the way to go for multimedia editing!!

unless you have a new mac! then you can run xp on it! oh the excitement of running xp on a mac............... actually, sarcasm put a side, i heard that xp runs better on a mac than it does on a regular pc.

 

With the luck I have with PCs, it probably does!
